It seems that Sonos has made their first entry into home theater count with the Playbar--a soundbar designed for home theater use, but that is also networkable with Sonos' internet audio standards. It can either be connected to your network via ethernet, or added to an existing Sonos wireless network, and instantly a variety of music and radio services are available and controllable via the iOS, Android, or Mac apps.
It also features an optical audio input that will accept the output from your TV, routing all TV audio through the Playbar. With 9 internal speakers, it's more than capable of bringing your entertainment to life on it's own, but it will also allow you to add additional Sonos speaker components to construct an entire 5.1 surround sound system... all wirelessly.
Sonos is one of those companies that seems to "get it" when it comes to user experience and product quality. The Playbar is no exception.
