Mailbox is a fantastic app for iOS that set out to change how we deal with our email. The idea is to encourage you to process your email as soon as you see it. It makes it simple to delete, archive, defer, or categorize your email with just a simple swipe. Soon after launch, Mailbox was purchased by Dropbox, and they're continuing to support the development of the best email app out there.
Earlier this year, Dropbox announced Mailbox for Mac, a desktop version of their popular iOS app. Just this week it went into public beta, and after using it for a few days, I can say it's just as lovely to use as their iOS apps. It keeps everything in sync between your Mac and iOS devices, and the gestures are intuitive and easy to use.
It's important to note that as a public beta, it's not without bugs and issues, but I've found it to be very stable overall, and haven't run into any show-stopping problems.
Mailbox is available now on iOS and Android, and is in public beta on the Mac. All versions are excellent and well worth trying if you often find yourself overwhelmed with email.
