I should start by confessing that I don't play games. I am not a gamer by any stretch of the imagination, and very rarely do I come across games that can really capture my attention. Monument Valley, however, is absolutely mind blowing and sucked me in from the moment I opened the app.
That was 7 months ago, and now the team at Ustwo have released another set of levels for the game, called "Forgotten Shores".
Monument Valley is a difficult game to explain, but it's essentially a maze on steroids — think M.C. Escher, but in your iPhone. You wind your way through seemingly impossible architecture and optical illusions that get increasingly complicated as you go. It's truly one of the most beautiful and interesting apps I've ever seen on iOS and is endlessly entertaining to play.
Forgotten Shores is available as an in-app purchase for $1.99. The amount of work that went into this app makes that price seem like an absolute steal to me. It's stunning.
