Rewind to 1961--a new factory in China was built specifically to assemble the very first Chinese watch. It was a watch designed specifically for use by the Chinese Air Force, and in 1963 the factory manufactured only 1400 of them before production of this watch was stopped indefinitely.
Seagull began offering a reissue of this famous watch recently in the classic 38mm size, but now has recently begun offering it in a much more modern 42mm size, with the same 21 jewel column-wheel manual-wind chronograph movement that is simply unheard of in any other watch at this price point. It's an excellent movement, beautifully decorated, and definitely the only mechanical chronograph you will find for under $500.
In addition to the case size change, it's also now available with three different dial colors: the classic champagne & gold dial, a white "panda" dial, and a black dial with silver sub-dials. Each is beautiful in its own unique way, and this is undoubtedly a truly classic looking watch that can work with just about any outfit.
